Kheerganga Trek: More Than Just a Trek
Have you ever dreamed of walking through lush forests, hearing the sound of rivers, and finally soaking in natural hot water springs surrounded by snowy peaks?
Welcome to the Kheerganga Trek.
Located in Himachal Pradesh’s Parvati Valley, this trek is perfect for beginners, solo travelers, and anyone seeking peace and nature. With stories from Indian mythology, quiet trails, and stunning views, the Kheerganga trek is both a spiritual and physical journey.
At Trekking Cougars, we believe trekking isn’t just about reaching the top. It’s about experiencing silence, connecting with nature, and finding peace away from crowded places. While most people follow Instagram trends and go to commercial spots like Triund or Kasol, we help you discover the hidden, untouched side of the Himalayas.
Where is Kheerganga?
Kheerganga is around 9,700 feet above sea level, in the Parvati Valley, near Kasol and Barshaini. The trek begins from Barshaini village, a small hamlet about 22 km from Kasol. From there, the trail leads through forests, waterfalls, and mountain paths to reach the hot springs at the top.
The name “Kheerganga” comes from a story where Goddess Parvati made kheer (a sweet dish) for her son Kartikeya using the natural hot water springs. That sacred spring still flows today.
How to Reach Barshaini (Trek Starting Point)
To start the Kheerganga trek, you first need to reach Barshaini. Here’s how:

There are three main routes to choose from:
