Overview

The Pin Bhabha Pass Trek is one of the most dramatic crossover treks in the Indian Himalayas, connecting two completely different worlds in a single journey. Starting from the forested Bhaba Valley in Kinnaur, the trail climbs through pine, oak, and silver birch forest, opens into wide grassland campsites, crosses glacial moraine, and then descends into the cold-desert landscape of Spiti. The trek begins near Kafnu in the Bhaba Valley and ends at Mudh village in Spiti, with a short onward drive to Kaza. Along the way, trekkers pass riverside campsites, meadow grounds, and a rare high-altitude river delta campsite before crossing Pin Bhabha Pass at roughly 4,900 metres / 16,100 feet. Detailed Itinerary

This is not a beginner trek. Covering roughly 50-51 km over 8 days, with long trekking hours and a demanding pass-crossing stage, it is best suited to trekkers who already have some high-altitude experience. In return, it gives one of the most complete Himalayan routes: forest, meadows, river delta, moraine, a high pass, and the raw sweep of Spiti.
