  • Day 01: Dehradun to Sankri (2000m): 9-hour Drive

    Commence your Himalayan adventure by rendezvousing in Dehradun early in the morning. Embark on a mesmerising journey to Sankri, situated at an elevation of 6,400 feet, offering captivating views of Mussoorie, Naitwar, and other scenic towns along the route. Immerse yourself in the natural splendor, encompassing pine forests and the enchanting aroma of Himalayan flora. Upon arrival, unwind at your accommodation and take a stroll through the picturesque Sankri village, renowned as a haven for trekkers and nature enthusiasts.
  • Day 02: Sankri (2000m) to Shepherd Camp (2900 m): Trek (3–4 hours)

    After a hearty breakfast, embark on a gentle hike through the forest, leading to Saur village and eventually ascending to Juda-ka-Talab, a serene lake adorned with snow-capped mountain vistas. Marvel at the religious significance and breathtaking scenery of this enchanting locale before continuing the ascent, with glimpses of the majestic Himalayan peaks. Conclude the day by setting up camp amidst the tranquil meadows.
  • Day 03: Shepherd Camp (2900m) to Base Camp Kedarkantha (3400 m): Trek (5 hours)

    Commence the day with a spectacular sunrise and a delicious breakfast before commencing the trek to Kedarkantha Base Camp at an elevation of 11,250 feet. Traverse through verdant pine and oak forests, emerging into picturesque meadows dotted with shepherd huts. Be awestruck by the panoramic views of Bandarpoonch, Swargarohini, Kala Nag, and Ranglana peaks, immersing yourself in the natural wonders of the Garhwal Himalayas.
  • Day 04: Base Camp to Kedar Kantha Peak (3800m) to Shepherd Camp

    Embark on an exhilarating ascent to Kedar Kantha Peak, soaking in the awe-inspiring vistas of the Yamunotri, Gangotri, and Kinner Kailash ranges. Descend from the summit and return to Shepherd Camp, where you’ll spend the night amidst the tranquility of the Himalayan wilderness.
  • Day 05: Shepherd Camp to Sankri (2 hour trek) / Dehradun (8-hour drive)

    Bid farewell to the serene surroundings as you descend to Sankri, concluding your trek with cherished memories. After breakfast, embark on the journey back to Dehradun, reminiscing about the unforgettable experiences of the Kedarkantha Trek.

Exclusion

  • Meals During Transit: Please note that meals purchased while traveling to and from Sankri (base camp) are not included in your trek fee. Plan to budget accordingly for these stops.

  • Optional Backpack Offloading: If you prefer to hike without carrying your full pack, an additional daily fee of Rs 350 per bag applies. To ensure smooth logistics, please inform us in advance.

    Important notes:

    • Backpacks must not exceed 8-10 kg in weight.
    • Suitcases, trolleys, or duffel bags are not suitable for the terrain.
  • Dehradun Stay and Additional Transport: Accommodation in Dehradun and any transportation beyond the specified itinerary are not included in the trek cost.

  • Personal Expenses: Any souvenirs, snacks, phone calls, or other personal purchases during the trek are at your own expense.

  • Emergency Rescue: In the unlikely event of unforeseen medical or logistical issues requiring evacuation, you will be responsible for associated rescue costs. It’s strongly recommended to secure travel insurance that covers trekking-related emergencies.

  • Other Unlisted Items: Any service or item not explicitly mentioned in the “What’s Included” section is not covered by your trek fee.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation due to Natural Disasters or Unforeseen Circumstances:

Suppose a trek is cancelled at the last minute due to a natural disaster or unforeseeable circumstances (such as floods, earthquakes, landslides, attacks, or bandh). In that case, Trekking Cougars will issue a Trek voucher for the full amount. The voucher can be used for the same or a different trek over the next year.

Client Cancellations:

  • Cancellations made within 30 days of the trek’s start date will receive a full refund.
  • Cancellations made between 30 and 20 days before the trek will receive a 50% refund.
  • There will be no refund for cancellations made less than 20 days before the trek begins.

Please note that all refunds are subject to a 4% cancellation charge to cover processing fees. Additionally, trek insurance is non-refundable.

Trekking Cougars Responsibilities:

Trekking Cougars assumes no responsibility for any damage or injury to your clothing, equipment, or other belongings while on the trek. The trek fee covers all expenses associated with the trek, from start to finish, as outlined in the specific trek itinerary.
