Located at an elevation of 3750 meters, Dayara Bugyal’s natural splendor makes it an ideal trek for beginners.

Trek through diverse landscapes on the Dayara Bugyal trek, from open meadows to dense forests. The best time to experience this winter paradise is between December and March when the trails are blanketed in fresh snow. Prepare for chilly nights with temperatures dropping to -5 degrees Celsius, but rest assured that every campsite along this trail offers stunning, scenic views. This relatively short trek is perfect for beginners who want to be awestruck by nature’s grandeur. Experienced trekkers will also appreciate Dayara Bugyal’s friendly, less-crowded trails.

  • DAY 1: Arrive in Barsu from Dehradun
  • DAY 2: Trek from Barsu to Barnala (9,884 ft)
  • DAY 3: Barnala – Dayara Top (12,300 ft) via Dayara Bugyal (11,600 ft) and back to Barnala
  • DAY 4: Barnala to Barsu. Depart from Barsu.
  • Day 1: Arrival in Barsu from Dehradun
    • Start early: Depart from Dehradun by 7 am for a scenic drive to Barsu via Uttarkashi.
    • Acclimatization: Arrive at your pre-booked hotel in Barsu and explore the surroundings with short walks to ease into the altitude.
  • Day 2: Trek from Barsu to Barnala (9,884 ft)
    • Beginner-friendly ascent: Begin your trek after a hearty breakfast, enjoying a moderately-paced climb suitable for first-timers.
    • Afternoon arrival: Reach Barnala by afternoon, giving you time to settle in and explore the campsite. Rest and recharge in provided tents.
  • Day 3: Barnala to Dayara Top (12,300 ft) via Dayara Bugyal (11,600 ft) and back to Barnala
    • Dayara Bugyal awaits: After breakfast, set off to the breathtaking Dayara Bugyal. Trek through potentially knee-deep snow during winter months.
    • Vast meadows and Himalayan views: This 28 sq km grazing ground offers stunning 360-degree Himalayan panoramas. An easy hike brings you to Dayara Bugyal Peak by afternoon.
    • Unwind and descend: Immerse yourself in the beauty and return to your Barnala campsite by late afternoon.
  • Day 4: Barnala to Barsu. Departure from Barsu
    • Scenic descent: Start your day with an early breakfast and descend to Barsu on a straightforward 2-3 hour trail.
    • Onward from Barsu: If you’ve booked return transportation with us, your vehicle will depart for Dehradun. Arrive in 6-7 hours, leaving 3-4 hours buffer for potential delays when booking onward travel.

  • Home City Transportation: You’ll need to arrange your own travel to/from the trek’s designated starting point.

  • Additional On-Trek Transport: While some transportation assistance may be provided during the trek, be prepared for situations where you might need to arrange for extra transport at your own expense.
  • Excess Baggage Fees: Personal luggage exceeding 12 kg per bag will incur a daily fee of Rs 350 per bag, carried by porters or mules.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation due to Natural Disasters or Unforeseen Circumstances:

Suppose a trek is cancelled at the last minute due to a natural disaster or unforeseeable circumstances (such as floods, earthquakes, landslides, attacks, or bandh). In that case, Trekking Cougars will issue a Trek voucher for the full amount. The voucher can be used for the same or a different trek over the next year.

Client Cancellations:

  • Cancellations made within 30 days of the trek’s start date will receive a full refund.
  • Cancellations made between 30 and 20 days before the trek will receive a 50% refund.
  • There will be no refund for cancellations made less than 20 days before the trek begins.

Please note that all refunds are subject to a 4% cancellation charge to cover processing fees. Additionally, trek insurance is non-refundable.

Trekking Cougars assumes no responsibility for any damage or injury to your clothing, equipment, or other belongings while on the trek. The trek fee covers all expenses associated with the trek, from start to finish, as outlined in the specific trek itinerary.
