  • Day 1: Arrive at Srinagar Airport, drive to Sonamarg (2 hours), overnight camp, rest, acclimatization
  • Day 2: Early morning trek towards Nichnia Valley (3700m, 7-8 hours) and camp
  • Day 3: Trek to Nichnia Pass (3900m, 2-3 hours), descend into Kishen Sar and Vishen Sar Valley (4 hours), overnight camp in meadows
  • Day 4: Trek to Vishen Sar and Kishen Sar Lakes, cross Gadsar Pass (4250m), panoramic views of Vishen Sar and Kishen Sar Lakes, Gad Sar Lake (7-8 hours), overnight camp in Gadsar Valley
  • Day 5: Trek to Satsar Camp (7-8 hours), overnight Satsar Valley
  • Day 6: Descend into Trandkull Valley (6-7 hours), panoramic views of Gangabal, Harmukh Mountain, overnight camping in Trandkull
  • Day 7: Easy day (optional: choose trek or rest), short trek around lakes Gangabal, Nundkull Lake (2-3 hours, buffer day)
  • Day 8: Early morning trek to Naranag (6-7 hours), taxi will be waiting, drive to Srinagar, overnight in houseboat

    Arrival at Srinagar Airport (early morning flights recommended): Be greeted by stunning views of the Himalayas as you fly into Srinagar, the capital of Kashmir. Meet your representative and scenic drive to Sonamarg (2 hours): Wind through lush valleys and picturesque villages as you embark on your adventure. Camp setup at Sonamarg: Settle into your campsite amongst the meadows of Sonamarg, a popular hill station. Acclimatization and Rest: Take time to adjust to the altitude, relax, and soak in the stunning surroundings.
  • Day2: Begin Trek to Nichnai Valley

    Begin Trek: Nichnai Valley (3700m), 7-8 hours: After a hearty breakfast, embark on the first leg of your journey, traversing grasslands and gentle slopes towards Nichnai Valley. Meadow campsite: After a day of trekking, set up camp in a picturesque meadow with breathtaking valley views.
  • Day3: Ascend Nichnai Pass and Descend to Kishen Sar and Vishen Sar Valley

    Ascend Nichnai Pass (3900m), 2-3 hours: Challenge yourself with a steady climb to the top of Nichnai Pass, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Descend into Kishen Sar and Vishen Sar Valley, 4 hours: Follow trails down into the heart of the Great Lakes region, surrounded by the crystal-clear lakes of Kishen Sar and Vishen Sar. Camp in Gadsar Valley: Settle into your camp and experience the serenity of Gadsar Valley, renowned for its wildflower meadows and views of the lakes.
  • Day4: Ascend Gadsar Pass and Explore Gadsar Valley

    Ascend Gadsar Pass (4250m): Hike up Gadsar Pass, another scenic high point offering breathtaking vistas of the entire Great Lakes region. Gaze upon the pristine lakes: Be captivated by the vibrant colors and reflections of Vishen Sar and Kishen Sar lakes. Camp overnight in Gadsar Valley: Relax at camp and soak up the tranquility of Gadsar Valley amidst awe-inspiring natural beauty.
  • Day5: Trek to Satsar Campsite

    Trek to Satsar Campsite (7-8 hours): Ascend to Satsar, a collection of mesmerizing alpine lakes. Camp at Satsar: Immerse yourself in the magic of Satsar’s pristine environment and starry night skies.
  • Day6: Descend into Trandkull Valley

    Descend into Trandkull Valley (6-7 hours): Leave Satsar and descend into lush Trandkull Valley, with streams and panoramic views of Mt. Harmukh, a revered peak in Kashmir. Experience local life: Get a glimpse into traditional Kashmiri shepherd settlements as you pass through the valley. Camp overnight in Trandkull: Rest and recharge in a tranquil meadow setting.
  • Day7: Optional Hike or Rest Day

    Optional Hike: Gangabal and Nundkull Lakes (2-3 hours): Treat yourself to a short trek to the legendary Gangabal and Nundkull Lakes, steeped in local folklore. OR Rest Day: Recharge and take in the beauty of Trandkull Valley with a relaxing afternoon.
  • Day8: Trek to Naranag and Transfer to Srinagar

    Trek to Naranag (6-7 hours): Complete the final stage of your trek, descending through meadows and forests to the village of Naranag. Transfer to Srinagar: Enjoy a scenic drive back to the vibrant city of Srinagar. Deluxe Houseboat Stay: Unwind in the charm of a luxurious houseboat on Dal Lake, surrounded by tranquil waters and mountain vistas.
  • Day9: Departure from Srinagar

    Breakfast on the Houseboat: Savor a final morning with delicious Kashmiri cuisine on the houseboat. Transfer to Srinagar Airport: Bid farewell to the ‘Venice of the East’ as you head to the airport for your departure.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation due to Natural Disasters or Unforeseen Circumstances:

Suppose a trek is cancelled at the last minute due to a natural disaster or unforeseeable circumstances (such as floods, earthquakes, landslides, attacks, or bandh). In that case, Trekking Cougars will issue a Trek voucher for the full amount. The voucher can be used for the same or a different trek over the next year.

Client Cancellations:

  • Cancellations made within 30 days of the trek’s start date will receive a full refund.
  • Cancellations made between 30 and 20 days before the trek will receive a 50% refund.
  • There will be no refund for cancellations made less than 20 days before the trek begins.

Please note that all refunds are subject to a 4% cancellation charge to cover processing fees. Additionally, trek insurance is non-refundable.

Trekking Cougars Responsibilities:

Trekking Cougars assumes no responsibility for any damage or injury to your clothing, equipment, or other belongings while on the trek. The trek fee covers all expenses associated with the trek, from start to finish, as outlined in the specific trek itinerary.
