The day-by-day schedule for the Indrahar Pass Trek:

Day 1: We will get to McLeod Ganj today.

  • Take a bus that leaves Delhi early in the morning and arrives in McLeod Ganj, which is the starting point of the trek.
  • After settling in at a hotel or guesthouse, spend the rest of the day adventuring around McLeod Ganj.


Day 2: McLeod Ganj to Triund. (2975m)

  • Trek from McLeod Ganj to Triund, which is a lovely camping spot that is perched on a ridge and offers breathtaking vistas of the mountains in the region.
  • The walk lasts for approximately four to five hours and travels through picturesque meadows and enchanting forests.
  • Rest your head for the night at the campsite.


Day 3: Triund to Laka Got (3200m)

  • Trek from Triund to Laka Got, which is a beautiful high altitude campsite located in rocky terrain.
  • The walk takes approximately four to five hours and is comprised of rugged and ascending terrain.
  • Rest your head for the night at the campsite.


Day 4: Laka Got to Indrahar Pass (4350m)

  • Trek from Laka We made it to Indrahar Pass, the highest point of the trek, which rewarded us with breath-taking vistas of the mountains in the area.
  • After ascending to the pass, continue on to Kuwarsi, which is a stunning camping area situated on the opposite side of the pass.
  • The walk is a difficult and exciting experience that takes about 8 to 9 hours to complete.
  • Rest your head for the night at the campsite.


Day 5: McLeod Ganj to Delhi

  • Trek from Kuwarsi to Chamba, which serves as the journey’s final destination.
  • You can get back to McLeod Ganj by taking a taxi or a local bus.
  • Spend the evening discovering McLeod Ganj and its well-known points of interest.
  • The sixth day is spent travelling out of McLeod Ganj.

After leaving McLeod Ganj, you can take a bus or a taxi to get back to Delhi.
Please keep in mind that the itinerary described above is merely a suggestion and can be adjusted to better suit your needs and preferences. The hike is difficult and taxing, and it is necessary that the hiker have previous hiking experience as well as be physically fit. In order to avoid getting sick from the high altitude, it is essential to properly acclimatise to the environment beforehand.

A guide to getting to McLeodganj:

Gaggal Airport is 15 km from McLeod Ganj. Several airlines fly from Delhi to Gaggal Airport daily. Taxi or bus to McLeod Ganj.

Pathankot Railway Station is 90 km from McLeod Ganj. Pathankot-Delhi trains run daily. Taxi or local bus to McLeod Ganj.

By Bus: State-run and private buses run daily from Delhi to McLeod Ganj. Buses stop for refreshments during the 11-12-hour trip.

Taxi: Delhi to McLeod Ganj is also possible by taxi. Depending on traffic and road conditions, it takes 10-11 hours.

Budget and travel preferences determine the best option. Air travel is fastest and most comfortable, but expensive. Trains and buses are cheaper but slower. Taxis are most convenient.

Places to visit in Mcleodganj:

McLeod Ganj, in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, is a stunning mountain retreat. Because of the high concentration of Tibetan refugees there, the area is often referred to as “Little Lhasa.” Some of McLeod Ganj’s most well-known attractions are as follows:

Namgyal Monastery is the Dalai Lama’s personal monastery and one of the most well-known in McLeod Ganj. It is a tranquil location in which to study Tibetan Buddhism and participate in meditation and prayer.

Located in the middle of McLeod Ganj is the Tsuglagkhang Complex, a sizable Tibetan temple. There are a number of temples and a museum to explore in this area, making it the most significant religious centre for Tibetan Buddhists outside of Tibet.

Beautiful Bhagsu Waterfall can be found not far from McLeod Ganj, at a distance of about 2 kilometres. The area around the waterfall is very green, making it a great place to have a picnic.

Approximately two kilometres from McLeod Ganj is Dal Lake, a small lake. Picnics and boat rides are common activities at this lake, which is framed by picturesque mountains.

The Kangra Fort, a significant historical site, can be found about 20 kilometres south of McLeod Ganj. The fort is one of India’s oldest and largest, and it overlooks a beautiful valley.

McLeod Ganj is home to the stunning St. John in the Wilderness Church, an Anglican place of worship. The Gothic style of the church makes it a popular location for photographers.

These are merely a few of McLeod Ganj’s many attractions. Beautiful mountain scenery and a wealth of Tibetan history and culture are just two of the many attractions in this town.
