Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Dehradun to the charming village of Sankri – your base for the first night. A short drive the following day brings you to Taluka, a quaint market town where your trekking adventure truly begins.

Enjoy a comfortable drive alongside the Yamuna and Tons rivers, passing through lush pine forests along the way. Arrive in the picturesque village of Sankri, your base for the trek.   • Day 2: Sankri to Puwani Garaat via Taluka (12.5km trek) (12Km Drive) Embark on an exciting drive to Taluka, the start of your trekking adventure. Hike through a mesmerizing landscape of mixed forests along the Supin River. Experience a gentle gradient with occasional thrilling steeper sections. Immerse yourself in the rich culture of the region with a close-up encounter with traditional village life. Overnight stay in Puwani Garaat
  • Day 3: Puwani Garaat to Kalkatiyadhaar (6km trek) Start your day with a trek to the charming village of Osla, perched at 8,500 feet above sea level. The walk is exhilarating, with mostly even terrain and some steeper portions balanced by awe-inspiring vistas. Encounter two captivating lakes, crossing the second via a quaint wooden bridge. Thrill to the sight of sprawling meadows and navigate exhilarating mountain bends, boulder fields, and knolls. Ascend to your campsite at Kalkatiyadhaar (8,956 feet) with the promise of breathtaking views throughout. Overnight stay in Kalkatiyadhaar
  • Day 4: Kalkatiyadhaar to Har ki Dun and Return (5km trek) Rise early to experience the magic of Har ki Dun, known as the Valley of Gods. Hike through moraines and alpine meadows, surrounded by towering pine trees. Ascend a mix of steep and moderate slopes, encountering snow patches and frozen waterfalls reminiscent of winter’s embrace. Reach the summit at Har ki Dun and be rewarded with panoramic views of the majestic Swargarohini, Hata, and Black peaks. Return to Kalkatiyadhaar for your overnight stay.
  • Day 5: Kalkatiyadhaar to Puwani Garaat (6km Trek) Retrace your steps back to Oslo village, savoring the beauty and the friendly villagers once more. Embark on the familiar trail back to Puwani Garaat, enjoying your last moments in this peaceful mountain setting. Overnight stay in Puwani Garaat
  • Day 6: Puwani Garaat to Sankri (12.5km trek) (12km Drive) Descend along the now-familiar trail to Taluka with a 5-hour trek, pausing at familiar rest points along the way. A comfortable vehicle awaits to whisk you back to your Sankri basecamp. Take mindful steps downhill to avoid straining your feet. Overnight stay in Sankri
  • Day 7: Departure from Sankri to Dehradun Bid farewell to Sankri, your newfound friends, and the unforgettable memories of the Har ki Dun trek. Enjoy a comfortable return journey back to Dehradun.

Exclusion

  • Travel to Basecamp: Transportation to and from the starting point of the trek (Sankri) is not included in the package. This allows flexibility for trekkers coming from different locations.
  • Personal Expenses: Tips, personal medications, phone calls, and any purchases of a personal nature remain the responsibility of the trekker.
  • Additional Transport (Optional): While the trek itself is designed for walking, some optional transportation assistance may be available for portions of the route at an additional cost.
  • Baggage Limits: Porters/mules can carry a maximum of 12 kg per person, with an additional charge of Rs 350 per day per bag. Please plan your packing accordingly.

  • Daypack (20–30 ltr): For essentials during daily hikes.

Clothing

  • Waterproof/Breathable Jacket & Trousers: Essential for rain and snow protection.
  • Insulated Jacket: Choose synthetic or down feather fleece for warmth.
  • Thermal Layers (Upper & Lower): Base layer for cold conditions.
  • Trekking Pants: Comfortable and durable.
  • Shorts: For warmer sections of the trek.

Season-Specific Clothing

Adapt your clothing choices based on the time of year you’re trekking. Consider the average temperatures and weather conditions for the Goechala Trek during your chosen season.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation due to Natural Disasters or Unforeseen Circumstances:

Suppose a trek is cancelled at the last minute due to a natural disaster or unforeseeable circumstances (such as floods, earthquakes, landslides, attacks, or bandh). In that case, Trekking Cougars will issue a Trek voucher for the full amount. The voucher can be used for the same or a different trek over the next year.

Client Cancellations:

  • Cancellations made within 30 days of the trek’s start date will receive a full refund.
  • Cancellations made between 30 and 20 days before the trek will receive a 50% refund.
  • There will be no refund for cancellations made less than 20 days before the trek begins.

Please note that all refunds are subject to a 4% cancellation charge to cover processing fees. Additionally, trek insurance is non-refundable.

Trekking Cougars Responsibilities:

Trekking Cougars assumes no responsibility for any damage or injury to your clothing, equipment, or other belongings while on the trek. The trek fee covers all expenses associated with the trek, from start to finish, as outlined in the specific trek itinerary.
